Early Access Program
MXL Labs has a 3-phase Early Access Program (EAP) where select strategic customers will be engaged for pre-licensing opportunities. Our EAP offers exclusive, limited access to the MXL-Gen1 photonic cooling technology for select data centers, chip vendors and system integrators.
MXL Labs EAP Participants will gain (1) early insights through pre-release performance data, (2) hands-on opportunities for design optimization, and (3) a first-mover advantage in testing on real hardware and server integration. Meet us at SC24 in Atlanta Nov 17-22.
Exclusive, 3-Phase Program
Pre-License Pilot Phase | Dec 2024
Evaluation Demo Phase | July 2025
Integration Pre-Order Phase | Jan 2026
Pre-License Pilot Phase
The Pre-License phase is the initial step of Maxwell Labs’ Early Access Program,
designed as an exclusive pilot to evaluate the applicability of MXL’s photonic cooling
technology across various use cases. It provides select customers access to exclusive pre-ordering and system integration capacity at Maxwell Labs before General Availability (GA).
Begins December 2024
In this phase, EAP partners receive a performance model and simulation customized to their specified hardware, and gain access to prioritized pre-orders.
This collaboration provides participants with an exclusive opportunity to explore the transformative benefits of integrated photonic cooling technology, unlocking new levels of efficiency and performance.
By working together, we ensure our product roadmap meets, and is informed by your needs, enabling us to deliver solutions that align seamlessly with industry demands while providing you with a competitive edge in harnessing next-generation cooling technology.
Key Elements
1. Participant Selection
- 3-4 customers from distinct, non-competing segments (server OEMs/ODMs, Hyperscalers, Chip Manufacturers)
2. Exclusivity and Priority
- Participants retain first-mover and exclusive partner rights with Maxwell Labs (MXL) throughout their program engagement
- Performance Model: MXL-developed simulation tools predict participants’ hardware response to an integrated photonic cooling solution
- First access: Access to real-world demonstration of photonic cooling
solution in pre-configured server environment - Priority Pre-Orders: Access to Priority Pre-Orders as the program
progresses
3. Engagement Scope
- Duration: 3-6 months
- Cost: Disclosed during initial meeting
- Availability: Limited to 1 customer per segment (segment-specific exclusivity among EAP partners)
4. Technical Process
- Customer-selected hardware for MXL technology evaluation
- Performance simulation and detailed analysis provided by MXL
5. Decision Period
- Performance review period is provided for customer to decide to continue or exit EAP
6. Marketing Collaboration
- Joint press and marketing initiatives for program visibility throughout the entire EAP program (mutually agreed upon)
Evaluation Demo Phase
The Solution Evaluation phase advances each participant’s access to Maxwell Labs’ technology through live testing on actual hardware.
Begins July 2025
In the Evaluation Demo Phase, EAP partners gain exclusive access to a demonstration of photonic cooling technology operating on real hardware.
This phase provides a hands-on opportunity to evaluate our technology’s capabilities in an EAP partner’s preferred environment, offering valuable insights into its performance and potential integration benefits. The demonstration system is composed of a pre-configured server environment, equipped with a PCIe-based GPU, integrated pump beam laser module, optical routing, and pre-installed photonic cold plate.
Building on this foundation, the next phase — Integration Pre-Order — will take the technology to the next level by implementing it directly on the customer’s hardware, paving the way for seamless deployment and operational success.
Key Elements
1. Exclusive Access
- Early evaluation of MXL photonic cooling technology on actual hardware
2. Engagement Scope
- Duration: 3 months
- Cost: To be determined at a future date
- Availability: ~20 demo systems, prioritized for Pre-License participants
3. Support & Feedback
- Dedicated technical support for EAP partners only
- Customer feedback integrated into final product design
4. Next Phase
- Participants who complete this phase can enter the EAP Solution Integration Program and benefit from additional pre-order options
Integration Pre-Order Phase
The Solution Integration phase represents the full-scale integration of Maxwell Labs’ photonic cooling technology into customer-defined hardware environments. This phase allows participants to work closely with Maxwell Labs’ engineering team to configure, test, and deploy a complete photonic cooling system solution across device, server, and rack levels.
Begins January 2026
In the Integration Pre-Order Phase, participants collaborate with Maxwell Labs through extensive modeling and a phased integration process, helping to shape the final product offering while securing an early-adopter position.
This phase ensures our technology’s compatibility and performance in the EAP partner’s real-world application, providing participants with a tailored solution that meets their specific needs. By engaging early, partners gain exclusive access to the next generation of our photonic cooling advancements, positioning themselves at the forefront of innovation and securing a competitive edge in their industry.
At the conclusion of this phase, EAP partners will have the opportunity to place priority pre-orders, ensuring exclusive access to a fully-integrated photonic cooling solution at launch.
Key Elements
1. Exclusive Access
- Fully-integrated MXL photonic cooling solution for customer-selected hardware
- Form-factor co-design on server and rack level infrastructure
- Access to energy-recovery system and design integration
- EAP Partner Pre-Orders will retain priority over all other pre-orders
2. Engagement Scope
- Duration: 18 months
- Cost: To be finalized based on customer needs
- Availability: Only available to EAP partners prior to General Availability
3. Support & Feedback
- Dedicated technical and integration support for EAP partners only
- Customer feedback integrated into final product design
4. Three-Phase Solution Integration Program
